Intercity taxi & mobility

ZoyahCabs

ZoyahCabs runs one-way drop taxi, airport transfer and outstation cab services out of Parangipettai across Tamil Nadu and into Karnataka. Nobody searches for a taxi brand. They search for a journey — "Chennai airport to Chidambaram taxi" — which means the route, not the homepage, is the thing that has to rank.

The brief

Turn a two-city operator into a platform that ranks for the journey a passenger actually types, quotes a fare instantly, and confirms the booking on WhatsApp without a call centre.

What was in the way

  • Demand is expressed as thousands of distinct origin–destination queries, not as brand searches — a single homepage can rank for almost none of them.
  • Aggregator platforms dominate the category and take a commission on every ride the operator wins through them.
  • Passengers abandon when a fare requires a phone call, so the quote had to be instant and trustworthy before any contact.
  • No dispatch staff — the booking flow had to run itself, day and night, in English and Tamil.

What we did

  1. 01

    Generated the route network programmatically

A matrix of 26 origins and destinations — Chennai Airport, Chennai City, Chidambaram, Cuddalore, Pondicherry, Madurai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Ooty, Kodaikanal, Rameswaram, Bangalore and more — expands into 200 individual /route/ pages, each with its own distance, travel time, copy and metadata, and every one listed in the sitemap.

  2. 02

Built a fare engine, not a price list

Distances are computed from geo-coordinates using the haversine formula with a 1.28 road-factor correction, then priced against a tiered fleet — sedan and SUV, each with its own per-kilometre rate, capacity, luggage allowance and driver allowance. A passenger sees a real number before they ever speak to anyone.

  3. 03

    Made WhatsApp the confirmation channel

Bookings confirm over WhatsApp rather than a call queue, which matches how this market actually transacts and removes the staffing cost of an always-open phone line.

  4. 04

Went deep on local structured data

A full schema graph — Organization, LocalBusiness, TaxiService with a priced offer catalogue, and per-city areaServed across sixteen cities — so search engines understand the service, the coverage and the fares without guessing.
